Born in Sapporo Medical University, he came to the US after 2 years of training in Japan. Completed one year of training in pediatrics, three years in psychiatry, and two years in child psychiatry in New York. After working in clinical research, he became Medical Director of the Adolescent Unit at Zucker Hillside Hospital, and since 2020 has been responsible for 226 beds in 10 wards at Zucker Hillside Hospital, managing inpatients and staff, conducting clinical research, and teaching residents and medical students. Donald & Barbara Zucker Haustra / Professor of Psychiatry at Northwell Medical College, where he has published numerous articles and research papers in the US and abroad. He is currently a consultant psychiatrist at the Consulate General of Japan in New York.
