The initiators of "Explore the Pleasures of Opera ！" will co-host with the Japan Club a "Talk ・ Event - Metropolitan ・ Opera 2024-2025 Season, All Performances ！ ～" on July 12, （ Friday ） at 6:00pm.

The Met will present 18 operas this season, from September 23 to June 7 next year. What kind of operas, what kind of singers and conductors are coming to the Met, what kind of new operas will be produced this season, what is the pleasure of opera in the first place? > Mr. Plotkin, a self-proclaimed "opera explorer" who loves opera, will answer these questions and more. This ・ event will be followed by a talk （ in English ） with Sumiko Ito, the founder of "Exploring the Pleasures of Opera ！," who will cover all the operas being presented this season.
Next, each member of the "Let's Explore the Pleasures of Opera ！" initiating committee will introduce a "must-see opera" that you must not miss.

Finally, we are pleased to announce the details of the opera viewing parties and last-minute study sessions to be held this season. We have another surprise in store for you this time, so please look forward to it as well. This talk ・ event is full of information that will help you enjoy opera even more, so please join us ！

Fred ・ PlotkinFred Plotkin
One of America's most prominent opera commentators. He has commentated on radio ・ television, lectured at the Met and other opera houses and museums, and blogged extensively. He holds the "Adventures in Italian ・ Opera" course at New York University and offers interviews with famous opera singers ・ conductors. His books include the best-selling Opera 101 ： The Complete Guide to Learning and Enjoying Opera and Classical Music 101 ： The Complete Guide to Learning and Enjoying Classical Music. He lives in New York City and has hosted the program "Fridays with Fred ・ Plotkin" on the internet channel IDAGIO and You Tube every Friday since April 2020.

Sumiko Sumiko Ito
lives in New York City. After working as a Japanese Government National Officer and Investment ・ Banker, she became a business strategy consultant for corporations. She has served on the boards of arts foundations in the U.S. and Japan and is currently a board member of Kronos ・ Quartet ・ Performing ・ Arts （ San Francisco ）. He became an opera ・ freak after getting to know Jonas ・ Kaufmann and translated and published Jonas ・ Kaufmann ： Tenor in November 2016.
