困っています！ソーシャルセキュリティの取得に出生証明書が必要 問題

ソーシャルセキュリティーナンバーを取得しようとしましたが、
カリフォルニアで取得した出生証明書の名字が誤って記入されてしまっていたため、取得出来ませんでした。

出生証明書を書き換える必要があるそうなのですが、


①カリフォルニアで取得した出生証明書をニューヨークで修正することができるか？とその方法。
②郵送は可能か？及び取得までの期間

お分かりになる方いらっしゃいましたら、教えていただけますでしょうか、、
