JACI staff members provide free welfare services in cooperation with the Japanese American community and other welfare organizations under confidentiality agreements.

Mr. Kimura, a JASSI Senior Member, was unaware that he could consult with JASSI about Medicare, and at JASSI's free mental health program, a counselor told him that his Medicare premiums would be higher the next year and that he had mental They were counseled that they were having mental health concerns because their Medicare premiums would be higher than the next year.
JASSI staff coordinated with the counselor and began working with Ms. Kimura.
JASSI staff investigated and found that her premiums would exceed her household income in the following year, so we provided information on how to review her Medicare plan and the possibility of having her premiums waived through the Medicare Saving Program.
In addition, Ms. Kimura learned how to use her computer and cell phone at the Senior IT Support Center, which enabled her to review her Medicare plan online from home, to easily contact her doctor using text messages on her cell phone, and to communicate with JASSI staff via Zoom. They are also able to communicate with JASSI staff via Zoom.
In this way, Mr. Kimura has been able to resolve his problems and improve his quality of life through JASSI's various programs.

In this way, JACSI continues to provide free welfare services tailored to the needs of each individual.
